CPAP provides a pneumatic stent for the upper airway, eliminating the airway collapse during inspiration. It is administered by a soft mask that covers the nose only. Sufficient pressure is introduced to eliminate apneas, hypopneas, and snoring.

TO KNOW MORE ASK YOUR DOCTOR.

BIPAP Therapy

Some patients require the use of BiPAP. In contrast to CPAP, which delivers a constant pressure during both inspiration and expiration, BiPAP permits independent adjustment of the pressures delivered during inspiration and expiration.

The ability to adjust inspiratory and expiratory pressures independently results in lower mean airway pressures compared with those of CPAP

BiPAP is generally used in patients who cannot tolerate high CPAP pressures (ie, patients who experience difficult exhalations ) AND HAVE PREEXISTING LUNG DISEASE.

YOUR DOCTOR WILL TELL YOU WHETHER YOU ARE A CANDIDATE FOR THE DEVICE.
